Isha-Anand engagement today; Ambani-Piramal family ties go back to the '70s
Decades before the young scions decided to tie the knot, their parents shared a deep bond.

Anand Piramal proposed to Isha Ambani at a temple in Mahabaleshwar in May this year.
Two of India's biggest business families, the Ambanis and Piramals, are set to unite as they celebrate children Isha and Anand's engagement in Lake Como, Italy, today.
But their relationship goes way back before the young scions decided to tie the knot. In fact, it was at the Piramals' home that Mukesh and Nita Ambani's love story blossomed.
At the time, Mukesh Ambani used to drive a green Fiat and take a ride on Mumbai's double-decker bus to woo Nita, who was then known as Nayantara Dalal.
Now, decades later the families are in celebratory mode once again, as they kick off the engagement festivities in Europe.

The couple is likely to tie the knot in December this year. While Anand completed his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard Business School, Isha recently returned from Stanford after her graduation.
Apart from being the Executive Director of the Piramal Group, Anand, who also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from University of Pennsylvania, is the founder of Piramal Realty, one of India's leading real estate companies. Prior to Piramal Realty, he also founded Piramal Swasthya, a rural healthcare initiative that treats over 40,000 patients a day.

Ambani, who is on the Boards of Reliance Jio and Reliance Retail, also worked as a business analyst with McKinsey & Company after receiving her undergraduate degree in Psychology and South Asian studies from Yale University.
