India is making a splash at the 75th Cannes Film Festival.

India has been chosen as the 'Country of Honor' this year to mark the 75th year of the Cannes Film Festival, which coincides with India's 75th year of Independence.

Here's a round-up of everything that went down at the gala.

The Beauty In Black
Actress Hina Khan adds the 'oomph' factor to Cannes in her sheer black dress. The little black dress by Fovari featured drapes and net panels in the front. She completed her look with simple diamond jewellery and a pair of black high heels.


The actress has not yet walked the red carpet and is expected to make a grand appearance in the next few days.

The Cinematic Experience
Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman held a special VR screen of his directorial debut 'Le Musk' for I&B Miniter Anurag Thakur, Grammy winner composer Ricky Kej and Central Board of Film Certification Chairperson Prasoon Joshi.


Shot on 14 different super-resolution cameras and post-produced in stereoscopic 360 VR, the 36-minute English-language masterpiece took more than five years to come to fruition because of the complex technology involved in its making.

A Family Affair
Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan took her actor-husband Abhishek Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya to the 25th L'Oreal anniversary party at Cannes. While she opted for a glittering pink dress with a magenta stole, her husband looked dapper in a tailored black suit. Her 10-year-old daughter looked pretty in a red frock.

The actress was spotted chatting with her longtime friend and Hollywood star Eva Longoria at the party. Rai Bachchan and Longoria have been associated with L'Oreal for several years now.

Nawaz's Cannefied Birthday
Nawazuddin Siddiqui celebrated his birthday at the gala for the seventh time on Thursday. Coincidently, the actor's movies found a place in Cannes during his birthdays.

From 2012 to 2022, the actor made an appearance on the red carpet for his movies ‘Gangs of Wasseypur', 'Monsoon Shootout', 'The Lunchbox', 'Bombay Talkies' and 'Raman Raghav 2.0' and 'Manto'.

When Nawaz was asked about the happy coincidence, the 48-year-old said that representing India was a special feeling. "From representing films from India to representing India. What an honour," he wrote.

The Meta Boss
Superstar Kamal Haasan became the first Indian actor to unveil his metaverse debut on VistaVerse at the prestigious gala. The NFTs have various privileges, exclusive access to experiences, interaction with the cast and crew in person, and tangible benefits to the buyers.

These NFTs also give access to rare artwork from the movie, personalised digital avatars, props, posters, mystery boxes, film memorabilia, fan interaction moments, and private screenings along with access to attend the travelling VistaVerseDome party that will give the NFT holders exclusive attendance rights to the parties.


The Vikram World is a collaborative effort between Lotus Meta Entertainment and Raaj Kamal Films International's much-awaited movie, starring Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil. The Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial has its music composed by Anirudh and is produced by Haasan and R Mahendran.
