The red carpet for the screening of 'Top Gun: Maverick' was filled with big names from around the world dressed to the nines, all set to watch the film on the big screen.
On day two of Cannes Film Festival 2022, Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise made his grand appearance after three decades for the screening of his much-awaited action film 'Top Gun: Maverick'.
With a crowd of excited fans howling, the French Air Force aerobatic team Patrouille de France flying over Cannes, a sky filled with coloured smoke trails of red, white and blue, the 59-year-old star touched down at the prestigious film festival.
The screening of 'Top Gun: Maverick' was a star-studded affair with several personalities like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Viola Davis, Eva Longoria, Ella Fanning and others setting the red carpet on fire with their gorgeous outfits.
At the movie screening, Cruise was also awarded the honorary Palme d'Or award in front of a massive crowd and a room full of thundering applause. "We love movies on the big screen," Cruise said. "After everything we've been through, it's such a privilege to see your faces," the actor said, at the end of the clip screening as he received a standing ovation.

The Red Carpet The red carpet for the screening of 'Top Gun: Maverick' was filled with big names from around the world dressed to the nines, all set to watch the film on the big screen.
Omar Sy, who stars in 'Father and Soldier', which also premiered yesterday, wore a black tux, whereas Viola Davis walked the red carpet dressed in a bright yellow gown.
Indian superstar Aishwarya Rai Bachchan walked the red carpet at the 75th Cannes Film Festival in a black gown with enhanced floral details by Dolce and Gabbana. Bachchan looked majestic with her kohl-rimmed eyes. To complete her look, Aishwarya let her hair down. Hina Khan, who is also at Cannes for the film festival, shared a few pictures of her beautiful attire that she opted for day 2 of the star-studded event.
The man of the hour, Cruise, joined the red carpet fun in a black tuxedo alongside the star cast of his film 'Top Gun: Maverick' - including Jennifer Connelly and Miles Teller, who were dressed in a silver gown and a white tuxedo, respectively.
