Bollywood divas Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Deepika Padukone turned heads with their appearance on the red carpet ahead of the premiere of the film. The third day was also marked by insightful discussions on the Indian entertainment industry and the premiere of 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect'.
Emotional Standing Ovation For 'Armageddon Time'
The film helmed by James Gray received an emotional seven-minute standing ovation. Hathaway and Gray broke into tears owing to the overwhelming response to their film. 'Armageddon Time' is Gray's semi-autobiographical about his life while growing up in 1980s Queens, New York. The film also stars newcomers Banks Repeta and Jaylin Webb.
Following the screening, Gray and Hathaway got emotional. The film-maker had claimed they finished the film in a state of total panic on May 14. Hollywood actresses Anne Hathway, Julia Roberts and Alessandro Ambrosio led the red carpet ahead of the film's screening.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Stuns In Pink
Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made a stunning second red carpet appearance at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival. The 48-year-old actress was spotted wearing a pink gown created by designer Gaurav Gupta. The intricately sculpted gown coupled with a giant halo made Rai a head-turner at the premiere of 'Armageddon Time'.

Deepika Padukone In Ravishing Red
Actress Deepika Padukone walked the red carpet wearing a scarlet gown designed by Louis Vuitton. Padukone accessorised her look with a Cartier necklace. The 'Gehraiyaan' actress who is attending the festival as a jury member was seen striking several poses for the shutterbugs.


The grand premiere of actor-director R Madhavan's 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect' was another highlight of the third day. The film is based on the life of renowned scientist Nambi Narayanan a former ISRO scientist and aerospace engineer who was falsely accused of espionage. The movie's screening marked the presence of CBFC chairperson Prasoon Joshi and maestro AR Rahman.
The third day also witnessed the India Forum panel that was moderated by CBFC member Vani Tripathi Tikoo. The panel discussion saw Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur emphasise on India becoming a global content hub. Apart from Tripathi and Thakur, the panel had film-maker Shekhar Kapoor, Prasoon Joshi, and R Madhavan.
