Apple's iOS 16 to feature revamped lockscreen with widgets, new wallpapers & more

It seems like Apple is thinking of merging left of the homescreen - Today View - section with its lineup of widgets and turning it into a lockscreen itself.
Apple is gearing up for its one of the biggest tech events of the year, WWDC 2022 (Apple Worldwide Developers Conference), where it is set to unveil the next iPhone.

The tech giant will also be releasing the next software update, the iOS 16, which is likely to come with many interesting features. According to new leaks, iOS 16 will bring new tools such as upgraded locks along with exiting updates for first-party apps including Health and Messages.

The report further reveals that the upcoming iOS will also bring updates to notifications and new iPad multitasking features.


It seems like Apple is thinking of merging left of the homescreen - Today View - section with its lineup of widgets and turning it into a complete lockscreen itself.

It is also being reported that the iOS 16 will bring 'Always-On' display feature which is similar to what users see on Apple Watch. While this feature has been available on Android smartphone for a while now, it's interesting to see how Apple incorporates this in its devices via iOS 16.

Apple WWDC 2022 will kick off from June 6 and will be live streamed for fans around the world. The tech conference sees thousands of attendees each year, where Apple announces latest looks, framework, updates to his gadgets.

Apart from iOS, fans can also expect some upgrades from Apple for iPadOS, macOS, tvOS and watchOS.

Another big launch at the event was the latest iPad Air model. The iPad Air (2022) is powered by Apple’s M1 chip and features an upgraded front camera with Centre Stage Support. The Centre Stage Support feature was introduced in 2021 on iPad Pro and iPad mini. The iPad Air (2022) has retained the design of the 2020 model.
