Apple will be launching iOS 16 alongside the next iPhone, which will come with an enhanced lock screen that will have wallpapers with widget-like features.
Apple enthusiasts are gearing up for the much awaited launch of the tech giant's smartphone of the year, the iPhone 14, which is rumoured to flaunt several key features, including the 'Always-On' display (AOD).
According to several reports, Apple will be launching iOS 16 alongside the next iPhone, which will come with an enhanced lock screen that will have wallpapers with widget-like features.
Though 'Always-On' display is a new thing for iPhones, Android phone users including Samsung, Xiaomi and Oppo are quite familiar with the feature as it has been there for years.
Even Apple's Watch, starting from Watch Series 5 and onwards, has the mode.
When the new feature arrives with iPhone 14, Apple will also make it available on iPhone 13 series. The tech giant has been mulling over the feature for months now. There were also rumours that iPhone 13 series was going to come with a low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) display which could enable AOD.
What Is 'Always-On' Display? The mode is something that allows the display to be always on, as the name suggests. With the 'Always-On' display mode, only a certain potion of the display remains on.

The feature allows selective pixels on the smartphone's screen to light up even when its on lock mode to alert the user of notifications such as time, incoming calls and messages.
The 'Always-On' display feature doesn't consume a lot of battery as only certain portion of the display is on wile majority of the smartphone's screen stays off.
The tech giant is rumoured to bring the feature to select smartphones which have both OLED + LTPO panels.

Another big launch at the event was the latest iPad Air model. The iPad Air (2022) is powered by Apple’s M1 chip and features an upgraded front camera with Centre Stage Support. The Centre Stage Support feature was introduced in 2021 on iPad Pro and iPad mini. The iPad Air (2022) has retained the design of the 2020 model. The iPad Air (2022) starts at Rs 54,900 for the WiFi 64GB model, while the WiFi+cellular model with 64GB is priced at Rs 68,900.
