Today, amid the comforts of life, we have access to all kinds of equipment that can keep us fit. Some of them even work wonders within the confines of our homes or whatever place we choose.

Treadmills are one of the most-sought after equipment by fitness enthusiasts. However, considering its bulky size, amenities and exorbitant prices, it is still a distant object for many.

For all those who yearn to have their own treadmill, this video of a man making a treadmill with his bare hands will be both amusing as well as reassuring.

Industrialist Anand Mahindra, who is known for his insightful tweets, shared a video of a man attempting a hand-made treadmill. The billionaire lauded the man for his craftsmanship and also said that in a world full of energy-hungry devices, the man’s treadmill is a work of art.

Mahindra also expressed his wish to own one such hand-made treadmill while complimenting the maker.

“In a world of commoditised, energy-hungry devices, the passion for craftsmanship, the hours of dedicated efforts in hand-making this device makes it a work of art, not just a treadmill. I want one…,” wrote Mahindra in his Tweet along with the video of the making.

When it comes to fitness, treadmills provide a wide range of benefits and are highly effective in accomplishing various fitness goals.

The treadmill is a piece of equipment that lets users run or walk in one place. Interestingly, in the old days, the word ‘treadmill’ was used for any mill that was operated by an individual or an animal, who would tread the steps with a motive of grinding grains.

It features a moving platform, a wide conveyor belt, a flywheel or an electric motor. The conveyor belt moves to the rear allowing users to run or walk at an equal velocity. The speed of the belt is equivalent to the user’s speed of walking or running.
