Ajinkya Rahane thanks fans for love & support, says seeing a smile on the faces of Indians is the 'biggest reward'

It if often said 'nice guys finish last'. BCCI (Board of Cricket Control in India) Chief Sourav Ganguly, played around with this popular idiom and wrote 'good people finish first too' in his tweet congratulating Ajinkya Rahane for his incredible feat.
The 32-year-old top-order batsman was fulfilling his duties as the captain when he lead India to a glorious redemption with a series-levelling victory against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Syndey. On Tuesday, India beat Australia by eight wickets in the second test bringing the series score to 1-1.
Indian fans erupted with joy as the victory was a special one for the country - with no Kohli, Sharma in the batting line-up, Rahane's leadership proved successful despite the obvious challenges.
Seeing the love on social media for him and the Indian cricket team, Rahane posted a sweet, short message on Twitter on Wednesday to thank those celebrating the win. In the photo message, the ace cricketer wrote that the biggest reward for the team has been the ability to bring a smile on the faces of all the Indians who follow the sport.
"We continue to seek your support and good wishes as we work hard for the next two matches," the tweet read.
Indian teams, since the turn of the new millennium, have had some memorable overseas victories but when the backdrop and context of this Test at the iconic MCG is recorded for posterity, Rahane and his magnificent bowling unit will find more than an honourable mention in the pages of history.
