It's election season, and almost everyone wants to have a say. The latest to air his opinion is actor Ranvir Shorey who put forth his view in a 90-second video on Twitter.
The video is captioned: "My fellow Indians, in the fine tradition of entertainers talking politics, here is my pre #Elections2019 special. Watch and share. Jai Hind". Shorey of 'Khosla Ka Ghosla' and 'Bheja Fry' fame, wonders if the problems facing the country today germinated in the past 5 years, a not-so-subtle reference to the time when the Narendra Modi government stormed to power at the Centre.

In chaste Hindi, the 46-year-old actor asks if the country was on the right track before the Modi-led NDA government assumed took charge. He also poses if riots and communal killings, along with poverty and unemployment, were completely absent in the country's milieu before 2014.
Shorey, while taking a sly dig at the Congress, also goes on to say that it's not fair to pin responsibility for such major problems that were inherited over the years on a 5-year-old incumbent government. And signs off by saying that a country as vast as India has problems that can't be resolved in mere five years.
The first phase of polling begins on Thursday where seven states including Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal will exercise their franchise.
