4 days after Sidharth Shukla's death, family releases statement and requests 'privacy to grieve'

He was cremated on Friday evening at Mumbai's Oshiware crematorium in the presence of his mother, sisters and rumoured girlfriend Shehnaaz Kaur Gill.
Sidharth Shukla's family on Monday issued first statement since the sudden passing of the actor on Thursday. Shukla, who was rushed to the hospital in Mumbai on September 2 after he complained of complications a night before, was declared brought dead by the hospital authorities. He was 40.
While his fans across the nation and colleagues from the industry are still recovering from the shocking news, his family has thanked the well-wishers who were part of Shukla's journey and for showering the actor with their unconditional love. They also requested privacy to mourn the actor's death.
“It definitely doesn’t end here as he now resides in our hearts forever! Sidharth valued his privacy, hence we request you to allow our family the privacy to grieve,” the statement released on Monday read.
The actor's family also thanked Mumbai Police for compassion, protection and sensitivity as the family recovers from a grim loss. “They have been like a shield, protecting us and standing by us every minute of the day! Shukla's mother Rita Shukla, sisters and rumoured girlfriend Shehnaaz Kaur Gill, who was accompanied by her brother Shehbaz were present at the crematorium.
While foul play has been ruled out in the matter, the exact reason behind his sudden demise has not been clarified yet. However, several reports suggest that the 'Balika Vadhu' star died due to a heart attack.

'Gone too soon' A teary-eye Karan Johar on Sunday paid an emotional tribute to the late actor on 'Bigg Boss OTT'. The film-maker said that the 'Balika Vadhu' star will forever be missed. Johar said he was still so numb after hearing about the actor's passing that he "couldn't breathe". "This is something we are all still finding hard to believe. It is like I am numb, I can't even breathe." Shukla had appeared on season 13 of 'Bigg Boss' where he emerged as the winner of the show.
