Government of India on Sunday invited applications for the position of a deputy governor at the Reserve Bank of India through an advertisement.

The notification for the appointment comes as the term of deputy governor M.K. Jain, who is in charge of banking supervision, is set to end in June. The selected candidate will serve as the deputy governor for a period of three years, stated the finance ministry.

According to media reports, the applicant must have at least 15 years of experience in the field of commercial banking and financial market operations with expertise in corporate banking, bankruptcy law and risk management.


The applicant should not be more than 60-years-old as on June 22, 2023.

The post carries a pay scale of Rs 2.25 lakh (level 17), says the advertisement.

Interested candidates are required to apply by April 10 to the department of financial services.
