Moj ranks fourth in India’s Social Media category on the Google Play Store, making it the only Indian app in the top four, the company said. The platform records over 1 billion daily video plays, with users spending nearly 300 minutes on it monthly.
Launched in 2020, Moj has built a community of over 3 million creators, offering content in multiple Indian languages. Since introducing ad-supported micro-dramas last year, the platform has more than doubled daily time spent per user, with users spending nearly 50 minutes a day on the platform.
Creators on Moj earn close to Rs 100 crore annually, while the platform has recorded 100% year-on-year revenue growth over the past 12 months. The company attributed the growth partly to advertiser interest in micro-drama offerings, including commerce integrations and branded content.
“Crossing 500 million downloads is an important milestone for Moj and reflects the trust and engagement of our users across the country,” said Ankush Sachdeva, CEO and co-founder of Mohalla Tech.
He said the platform would continue to focus on stories, creators and trends rooted in India’s linguistic and cultural diversity, while creating new opportunities for brands to connect with audiences through immersive storytelling.
