Under the partnership, highly engaged stories on Pratilipi will be adapted into microdramas by Double Tap Films and distributed across ShareChat, Moj and QuickTV.
The companies said the partnership will bring Pratilipi’s repository of stories together with Mohalla Tech’s distribution ecosystem across social, short-form and microdrama formats.
The collaboration comes amid growing demand for regional and episodic digital entertainment, according to the companies. They said the partnership will enable proven stories, creators and production houses to work with large-scale distributors and create new opportunities across the digital entertainment value chain.
“India has an enormous appetite for entertainment, and meeting this demand requires us to expand the content ecosystem beyond traditional production models,” said Manohar Singh Charan, Co-Founder and CFO, Mohalla Tech.
Sharlton Menezes, Vice President – IP & Key Partnerships, Pratilipi & Double Tap Films, said the partnership would allow stories that have already demonstrated strong audience engagement on Pratilipi to be adapted into microdramas.
Pratilipi has a community of writers and readers, with stories spanning multiple genres and languages. The companies said its best-performing stories will be adapted and produced for audiences across Mohalla Tech’s platforms.
The partnership will also create a content pipeline where audience engagement with existing stories can inform content discovery and adaptation into new formats.
