Dhurandhar 2 is currently roaring at the box office and is all set to enter the Rs 1000 crore mark worldwide. Directed by Aditya Dhar and headlined by Ranveer Singh, the film arrived in theatres on March 19. Along with its impressive box office run, several behind-the-scenes stories from the shoot are making rounds on the internet. One such story that has grabbed our attention is how a Ludhiana-based doctor, who was called to treat an injured actor on the set of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, unexpectedly ended up appearing in the movie.

Doctor called to treat Arjun Rampal on set

According to a report by The Tribune, Dr Sunny Ashok, a government doctor posted at a health facility in Kalakh village in Ludhiana district, was summoned to the film’s shooting location near Pakhowal on July 8, 2025. Actor Arjun Rampal had sustained a head injury while filming a high-intensity chase sequence near a railway track.

Dr Ashok later recalled that there was initial panic on set as the injury appeared serious, and there were concerns that the actor might need scans and hospitalisation. However, after examining Rampal and checking his reflexes, he confirmed that the injury was minor and that the actor was safe to continue.

A casual request that led to a cameo

A few days after the incident, Dr Ashok was called again to another shooting schedule at Shahnewal Airport. During this visit, he met Ranveer Singh and requested a photograph with the star. Recalling the interaction, Dr Ashok told The Tribune that Ranveer Singh warmly obliged. He added, "I asked Ranveer for a photo, at which he put his arm around my shoulder and said, ‘Brother, why just a photo, we will take you in the movie."

Soon after, director Aditya Dhar stepped in and explained that the film required a scene where a doctor treats the injured protagonist, played by Ranveer Singh. Dr Ashok was then asked to perform the role himself. The cameo was filmed on the spot, marking his unexpected entry into the world of cinema.

Dr Ashok later shared that the filmmaker appreciated his natural performance and even congratulated him for acting like a real doctor would, without looking into the camera or appearing nervous during the scene. The moment, though brief on screen, became a memorable experience for the doctor.

From government doctor to local celebrity

Following the film’s release, Dr Ashok’s short appearance quickly gained attention in his hometown. Friends, colleagues, and local residents recognised him in circulating video clips and screenshots, turning him into a minor celebrity in the area. Social media and messaging groups further amplified the buzz around his unexpected cameo.

Dr Ashok also spoke fondly about his interactions with the film’s stars, describing both Ranveer Singh and Arjun Rampal as "friendly and very down to earth". He noted that the actors and the crew were friendly and made him feel comfortable during his time on set in Punjab.
