Malayalam director Krishand’s latest film, Masthishka Maranam, has been generating attention for its unusual mix of science fiction, dark humour, and emotional storytelling. Starring Rajisha Vijayan in a prominent role, the film arrived in the theatres on February 27 and received largely positive responses from critics, who praised its unique concept and performances. Set in the year 2040, Masthishka Maranam unfolds in a futuristic version of Kochi, referred to in the film as Neo Kochi. The story explores a cyberpunk world where technology has advanced to the point that human memories can be extracted, shared, and even traded through virtual platforms.



The narrative follows Bimal Raj, a grieving father who turns to virtual reality memory simulations as a way to cope with the loss of his child. What begins as an emotional escape soon draws him into a larger and more mysterious network of digital memories, ultimately connecting him to the life of a famous celebrity.

In the film, Rajisha Vijayan plays superstar Frida Soman, whose memories hold crucial secrets that drive the story forward.
