Strong resolution

A person's success or failure depends largely upon the strength of his resolve. One whose determination is firm can scale the summit of success. Our progress depends on tremendous inner power, the power of Sankalp, and resolute determination. Through this power, even tasks that appear impossible become possible. The Upanishads proclaim the celebrated dictum: 'Sankalpa Srishti' - the world is born of resolve.

To accomplish any undertaking well, the power of determination is indispensable. Every action is preceded by thought; from thought arises decision; and, then, through the force of one's resolve, thought is transformed into reality. Resolve is an extraordinary power. For the person whose determination is unwavering, nothing remains impossible.

Only those who possess the capacity to endure can truly cultivate the power of determination. A resolute person learns to turn even adverse circumstances into opportunities. A restless person neither succeeds nor remains steadfast in purpose. Unless one has subdued the fickleness of the mind, one's determination can never remain stable.


Only that person can hope to reach the top who is well-grounded in his determination. Resolve should neither sink low nor be forgotten. This is a must for success. For a well-grounded resolve, one should also have the right focus. A person with a strong resolve doesn't change his mind and stays firm till the goal is achieved. He remains firm in his resolve and, to do so, he needs Herculean patience. A person with purity of mind and heart becomes a person of great resolve.
