‘Will fight against lies...’: Netanyahu set for UN address as New Yorkers rally against antisemitism

Hundreds of demonstrators gathered outside the United Nations in New York on Wednesday (September 23), calling on world leaders attending the UN General Assembly to take action against antisemitism. Protesters carried signs reading “The world must act,” as speakers and attendees addressed what they described as rising anti-Jewish hatred. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Tuesday (September 22) he would use his speech at the UN to defend Israel's military actions against ​the Palestinians, while accusing New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani of supporting Hamas. Netanyahu is slated to ​speak at the UN's General Assembly on Thursday (September 24).
