‘Global order under stress’: Jaishankar flags ‘4F crisis’; pushes stronger multilateralism at UNGA

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has said the global order is under stress, warning that geopolitical tensions, competition and conflicts could undermine international cooperation. Speaking at the inaugural Partners for Multilateralism Summit during UNGA 81, he highlighted the ‘4F crisis’ of fuel, food, fertilizer and finance, and called for stronger multilateralism. Jaishankar also stressed the need for international law, rules and norms to be observed, while advocating reformed multilateralism, more participative deliberations and greater transparency in decision-making.
