Info Edge Q1 Results: Standalone Profit falls 6% YoY to Rs 245 crore

Standalone revenue rose 12% YoY to Rs 824 crore in the June quarter, led by growth in its recruitment and real estate businesses.
Operating profit before tax rose 33% to Rs 334 crore from about Rs 250 crore a year earlier, while the operating PBT margin expanded 652 basis points to 40.5%. Standalone billings increased 14% to Rs 737 crore. Cash generated from operations before taxes rose 25% to Rs 225 crore.
Recruitment, which includes Naukri and related businesses, remained the main growth driver. Standalone recruitment billings rose 17% to Rs 553 crore, while revenue increased 13% to Rs 612 crore. Operating PBT climbed 25% to Rs 356 crore and the margin improved by 576 basis points to 58.3%.
Growth was broad-based within recruitment. The company said hiring activity in technology, IT and BPM grew 15% year-on-year, while business from global capability centres rose 31%. Other sectors grew 12%, while recruitment consultants recorded 1% growth.
Info Edge also saw stronger traction in its consumer recruitment business. Candidate services billings grew 35%, while paid conversion improved to 2.6% from 1.2% and the online share of B2C revenue rose to 54% from 27% over the past 18 months. NaukriGulf grew 12% YoY.
The company said its newer artificial intelligence products were beginning to gain commercial traction. AI-Rex had more than 400 paid clients and over 4,000 enterprise customers onboarded as of June, while Talent Pulse had more than 600 paid customers. Info Edge said AI was delivering 15-20% efficiency improvements across several customer workflows.
The 99acres business also improved sharply. Billings rose 16% to Rs 110 crore and revenue increased 17% to Rs 130 crore. Operating loss narrowed to Rs 2.1 crore from Rs 18.7 crore a year earlier, bringing the business closer to break-even. The company said property enquiries grew more than 38%, while app daily active users increased 38%.
Jeevansathi turned profitable at the operating level during the quarter. Billings rose 14% to Rs 40 crore and revenue increased 14% to Rs 38 crore, while the business posted operating PBT of around Rs 1 crore. Aisle, meanwhile, reported a 44% increase in billings to Rs 13 crore and revenue growth of 36% to Rs 12 crore, though it remained loss-making with an operating loss of Rs 2 crore.
Education platform Shiksha was the weak spot. Billings fell 23% to Rs 35 crore and revenue declined 12% to Rs 44 crore. Operating PBT dropped 49% to around Rs 3 crore. Info Edge attributed the slowdown to AI-related traffic headwinds and lower referred search traffic from Google, while demand for studying in the US also remained subdued.
On a consolidated basis, revenue from operations rose 11% to Rs 881 crore. Consolidated net profit increased to Rs 490 crore from Rs 343 crore a year earlier, aided by exceptional gains of Rs 135.6 crore during the quarter. Profit attributable to shareholders of the parent stood at Rs 446 crore compared with Rs 296 crore in the year-ago period.
Managing Director and CEO Hitesh Oberoi said Q1 was stronger than the trends seen through FY26, with recruitment benefiting from improving enterprise hiring and adoption of AI-led products, while 99acres continued to strengthen its market position and move closer to break-even.
