Solving this precise dilemma, 2 visionary Bengaluru fitness trainers, Rithwik Radhakrishnan, and Bhoomika Jayanna, revolutionized local exercise culture by launching India's inaugural mobile gym studio.

Rithwik Radhakrishnan, and Bhoomika Jayanna, are the proud owners of Unleash 45, a mobile gym. They have successfully converted a Maruti Eeco van into a full-fledged gym, bringing workout services to every doorstep in Bengaluru.

Their van is filled with exercise equipment like dumbbells, kettlebells, slam balls, battle ropes and resistance bands among others, driving the van to apartment communities in the city.

How the 2 Bengaluru fitness trainers met

Rithwik’s journey into fitness began with more than a decade of competitive wrestling, followed by a stint as a physical education teacher. However, he soon realised that the role offered little opportunity to actually coach students in sports, which left him dissatisfied. His long-standing interest in coaching eventually became the foundation for his fitness career.

Bhoomika, meanwhile, had been dancing since the age of five. She later joined a well-known fitness chain in Bengaluru as a dance instructor, where she developed a deeper understanding of movement, body mechanics and training. The experience sparked her interest in pursuing fitness more seriously.

The two eventually met while coaching at the same fitness centre. By 2024, they had moved into freelance training, conducting group workout sessions at apartment complexes across Bengaluru.

A challenge that gave them the new idea

However, they soon encountered a practical challenge. Residents at some communities objected to outside trainers using the gyms and equipment available within their apartment complexes. This prompted the duo to look for a way to become completely independent of the facilities provided at each location.

They began exploring the possibility of carrying their own equipment to every session. Rithwik had also come across examples of mobile gyms operating in Europe, which gave the pair the idea of creating their own version in Bengaluru.

They purchased a second-hand Maruti Eeco and removed all its seats to create space for their equipment. The rear section was fitted with custom plywood storage boxes that could hold dumbbells while the van was on the move and later serve as plyometric boxes during workouts.

The entire setup, including the used van, modifications and exercise equipment, cost the duo between Rs 4 lakh and Rs 5 lakh. They financed the venture themselves without bringing in any outside investors.
