Anirudh Ravichander-Kavya Maran wedding guest list

The families have begun inviting political leaders to the couple’s wedding reception, scheduled to take place in Chennai on November 21.

Sun TV Group chairman Kalanithi Maran, Kavya’s father, met Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi to invite her to the reception. Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi was also present during the meeting. Photographs shared by Sun TV Network showed Sonia receiving the invitation.

Kalanithi Maran also met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the national capital. His wife, Kavery Kalanithi Maran, accompanied him as he presented the invitation to the minister.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also among the reported invitees. Kalanithi and Kavery Maran met him alongside Anirudh’s parents, actor Ravi Raghavendra and Lakshmi Ravichander, to extend the invitation.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay has also received an invitation. Kalanithi Maran met Vijay on Saturday in the presence of Kavery Maran and Anirudh. Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin is also among the political leaders reported to have been invited.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is another invitee. The Maran family met him at his residence in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. The Telangana Chief Minister’s Office confirmed the meeting in a post on X and said he had been invited to the Chennai reception on November 21.

Anirudh’s Navaratri puja ahead of wedding

As the families prepare for the wedding, Anirudh’s home recently hosted a Navaratri puja attended by several well-known faces from Tamil cinema.

Rajinikanth, Sivakarthikeyan, Shalini Ajith Kumar, director Nelson Dilipkumar, and actors Sneha and Prasanna were among those reported to have attended the celebration. Sivakarthikeyan’s wife, Aarthi, was also reportedly present.

Rajinikanth’s appearance drew attention because of his long association with Anirudh, who has composed music for several of the superstar’s films. Anirudh has also collaborated with Sivakarthikeyan on multiple projects.

Anirudh is one of the leading music composers in Indian cinema. His work includes soundtracks for films such as Leo, Indian 2, Vettaiyan, Vidaamuyarchi and Coolie. He has built a strong presence in Tamil cinema and has also worked on projects in other Indian film industries.

Anirudh and Kavya Maran’s wedding reportedly planned in Greece

While the reception is scheduled for November 21 in Chennai, the couple’s wedding celebrations are reportedly being planned as a private, two-day event in Greece on November 10 and 11.

According to an NDTV report, the ceremony is expected to be attended by close family members and a select group of friends. The report also said the wedding would not take place in Santorini, despite speculation about the location. The Maran family is reportedly overseeing arrangements for guests, including flights, accommodation and transport.

In June 2026, actor Y Gee Mahendra, Anirudh’s uncle, also spoke about the upcoming wedding in an interview with KPTV. He said, “I would like to take this moment to congratulate him. He is getting into a very big wedding. Based on what I've been told, it's a sure thing. They are getting married,”

Kavya Maran is the daughter of Sun Group chairman Kalanithi Maran and is associated with Sun TV Network and the IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad. Her appearances during IPL matches have made her a familiar face among cricket fans.
