Jailer 2 Box Office Collection: Jailer 2 is moving closer to the Rs 700 crore mark at the worldwide box office. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the Rajinikanth-starrer has maintained a strong run since its theatrical release and has now become the second highest-grossing Tamil film ever, overtaking Vijay's Leo and Rajinikanth's own Jailer, according to the reported box-office figures.

Jailer 2 box office collection Day 9: Tamil version leads

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Jailer 2 collected Rs 14.50 crore net in India on Day 9, across 10,484 shows. The film's average collection stood at Rs 13,831 per show. Its worldwide gross collection has reached Rs 628.05 crore, including earnings from India and overseas markets.

The Tamil version continued to contribute the largest share of the film's domestic earnings. On Day 9, it collected Rs 9.35 crore across 4,885 shows. The Telugu version earned Rs 3 crore from 1,787 shows, while the Hindi version added Rs 1.75 crore across 3,624 shows. The Kannada version collected Rs 40 lakh from 188 shows.

With these earnings, the film's total India net collection has reached Rs 348.85 crore, while its India gross collection stands at Rs 408.55 crore, according to Sacnilk estimates.

The overseas market has also contributed significantly to the film's overall performance. Jailer 2 reportedly earned Rs 5 crore overseas on Day 9, taking its cumulative overseas gross to Rs 219.50 crore.

The combined figures have pushed the film's worldwide gross to Rs 628.05 crore.

Jailer 2 overtakes Leo

With its worldwide collection crossing Rs 600 crore, Jailer 2 has moved to the second position among the highest-grossing Tamil films. It has overtaken Vijay's Leo, which reportedly earned around Rs 605 crore worldwide, and the first Jailer, whose collection was around Rs 604 crore. The sequel had also surpassed Coolie, which earned a reported Rs 518 crore globally.

Shankar's 2.0, starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar, remains at the top of the list with a reported worldwide gross of Rs 691 crore. The film was originally made in Tamil and also received a wide Hindi release.

Trade expectations suggest that Jailer 2 could challenge 2.0 during its second weekend. If it crosses Rs 700 crore, it would set a new milestone for Tamil cinema. However, that target will depend on its upcoming collections, and the projected figure is not yet a confirmed outcome.
