Adams released Lake Ontario in response to Trump's controversial executive order directing US federal agencies to refer to Lake Ontario as 'Lake America'.

Legendary Canadian rock star Bryan Adams has once again taken out his frustration towards the US President Donald Trump through his songs. The 66-year-old singer, famous for hits like 'Summer of '69' and 'Heaven,' has come up with a politically charged track 'Lake Ontario' as a jibe at Trump's controversial renaming of the lake. But it didn't end there, as the song goes well beyond a disagreement over geography. Pointing to the Iran conflict and the Jeffrey Epstein documents, Adams has made his most recent production into a critique of Trump’s presidency and the relationship between the US and Canada.

WHY IS BRYAN ADAMS TAKING AIM AT DONALD TRUMP IN HIS NEW SONG?

According to The Guardian, Adams released Lake Ontario in response to Trump's controversial executive order directing US federal agencies to refer to Lake Ontario as 'Lake America'. The decision sparked criticism in Canada, particularly because the lake's name has deep indigenous roots and historical significance.

Adams, who was born in Kingston, makes his opposition clear through the song's lyrics, arguing that the lake's identity cannot simply be changed through a presidential order.

  • 'From glacial erosion - to Indigenous care
  • From European exploration - to industrial wear and tear
  • The ‘lake of shining waters’ is what the Iroquois called her
  • It’s a First Nations name - not an executive order'
However, his criticism doesn't stop there. The Canadian rocker also suggests that Trump's renaming decision was intended to divert public attention from other controversies surrounding his administration.

  • 'But things weren’t going his way in Iran
  • So like a baby tossing the toys from the pram
  • But it feels like another distraction
  • While the Epstein files were getting traction'
According to Global News, Adams references the war in Iran and renewed scrutiny of the Jeffrey Epstein files, portraying the naming dispute as a possible political distraction.

WHAT DID ADAMS SAY ABOUT TRUMP, AND WHAT'S BEHIND HIS LATEST SONG?

Adams has made it clear that his latest release is about more than just a lake's name. In a statement reported by Global News, the singer declared, "Empires and regimes, dictators and kings, they all come and go. Lake Ontario is forever."

The track will appear as a bonus song on his upcoming album, How's It Goin', scheduled for release on November 6. Interestingly, this isn't the first time Adams has challenged Trump through music.

Earlier this year, he released 51st State, criticizing Trump's repeated suggestions that Canada should become part of the United States.

  • 'You can push us to the brink
  • But where the open road divides
  • You’ll find a wall of maple
  • With us on the other side'
While the references to Iran and the Epstein files have drawn attention, the song's broader message is about Canadian identity, national pride and Adams' opposition to Trump's attempt to rename Lake Ontario.
