'The Man That Gravity Forgot': Benjamin Satterley aka PAC's tragic demise rocks professional wrestling world; Former AEW champion dead hours after his Saturday night fight

The professional wrestling community is shocked by the sad news of the passing of Benjamin Satterley who is known to many wrestling fans as PAC, and formerly Neville in WWE. The wrestler was 40 years old and still actively performing, which makes the death quite shocking for wrestling fans. PAC is reported to have fought against Andrade El Idolo for the AEW National Championship in the first match of All Out on Saturday night. Just a day later, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) announced his passing through its social media handles.

Nicknamed 'The Man That Gravity Forgot', PAC built a reputation as one of his generation’s most spectacular high-flyers and enjoyed championship success across WWE, AEW and the international wrestling circuit.

"All Elite Wrestling is saddened to announce the passing of Benjamin Satterley, aka Pac," read AEW's post on X. "A native of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Satterley began his wrestling career in 2004 and went on to perform for wrestling organizations all over the world, captivating fans with innovative high-flying moves and incredible in-ring ability. Pac signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2019 and held multiple AEW Championships and competed in some of the most memorable matches in AEW history. Our condolences go out to Satterley's family, friends and fans."

PAC WAS STILL COMPETING HOURS BEFORE HIS DEATH

The timing of Satterley’s passing has been quite shocking as he had been in action against Andrade El Idolo at All Out just hours earlier, competing for the AEW National Championship. No details about the circumstances surrounding his death have been disclosed.

For his explosive performance in the ring, Satterley was well-known. It was his incredible aerial attack in the ring that earned him the moniker 'The Man That Gravity Forgot'. His signature corkscrew shooting star press became one of the moves most closely associated with his career.

FROM NEVILLE IN WWE TO PAC IN AEW

Prior to being a rising star in AEW, Satterley had made his name in the wrestling world internationally in the decade of 2000s, making appearances for the promotion Dragon Gate along with wrestling in different parts of Great Britain and America. He joined WWE in 2012, where he had huge success in NXT as Neville. His breathtaking 'Red Arrow' finisher quickly became a fan favorite.

Neville was finally able to win the NXT Championship, before switching to WWE’s main roster. Neville would become a prominent wrestler in the cruiserweight division, winning the WWE Cruiserweight Championship on two occasions. Following his departure from WWE due to a contractual issue, Satterley signed with AEW in 2019 as PAC.

His AEW run brought more championship success. PAC became the promotion’s All-Atlantic Champion - a title later renamed the International Championship - and twice held the World Trios Championship.
