WHAT HAPPENED BETWEEN JACKSON AND CHUBB AFTER MNF?
The Rams and Bills had put up a performance in what was possibly one of the best games that week 5 had to offer, as Buffalo won the game in overtime. However, this was not enough to satiate the players on both sides who continued their antics even after the match had ended.
According to USA TODAY, Jackson was involved in a verbal exchange with Chubb while players were swapping jerseys following the game. Video footage captured the Rams left tackle approaching Chubb after the Bills defender appeared to walk away from their initial interaction.
Jackson then threw a punch that struck Chubb on his face, knocking his hat off. Other players and team personnel quickly intervened to prevent the confrontation from escalating. Jackson was immediately pulled away by Rams tight end Colby Parkinson after the punch, reported ESPN.
"Like I said, it was emotional game. Tempers got flared," Chubb said. "But it is what it is. We flushed it and we onto next week."
What exactly triggered the confrontation remains unclear. Neither the heated exchange nor the physical altercation changed the game's result, but the footage has placed Jackson under scrutiny. The Rams, after losing in overtime, received another frustrating episode that made their night even more disheartening.
WHAT PUNISHMENT COULD ALARIC JACKSON FACE FROM THE NFL?
Jackson could incur a punishment for what he did, even though the NFL did not give any to him after the incident. According to USA TODAY, an altercation between the safety of Detroit Lions, Brian Branch, and the wide receiver of Kansas City Chiefs, JuJu Smith-Schuster, after a game resulted in Branch getting suspended for one game in 2025. This scenario means that it is possible for Jackson to get a suspension, but it is not guaranteed that he will get the same punishment.
Jackson has previously been suspended from two games in 2024 for breaking the NFL's personal conduct policy. In Rams' case, the potential loss of their starting left tackle owing to suspension is an additional problem as the team looks forward to its next game.
What will happen in regards to what disciplinary action is imposed by the league remains to be seen. However, for now, the incident involving Jackson’s punch after the game has certainly been a very big topic of discussion after a very exciting Monday Night Football game.
