Members of the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) can apply for a non-refundable EPF advance through the UMANG app or the EPFO Unified Member Portal to receive a variety of benefits for various purposes. Also, no certificate or document is required to be submitted to avail benefit.

Employees are not permitted to make ad hoc withdrawals from their EPF accounts. There are prerequisites for every type of withdrawal.

What is EPF e-nomination?
The e-nomination helps in transferring the benefits of Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) account holders to their dependents in the event of the account holder's untimely death. It enables nominees to access the account holder's EPF, Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS), and Employees' Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme (EDLI) funds online.

Members should make sure they submit their nominees, who will get both the PF amount and the pension. Nominations can be submitted for one or more members of his family, with the percentage of share specified.

How to update or change EPF nominees online?

Step 1: Visit EPFO website >Services> For employees, > click “Member UAN/Online Services”.
Step 2: Log in with UAN and password
Step 3: Select ‘E-nomination’ under the Manage tab’.
Step 4: Provide Details tab will appear on the screen. Click ‘Save’.
Step 5: Click Yes to update the Family declaration.

Step 6: Click Family details to add more than one nominee.
Step 7: Click nomination details to declare the total amount of share. Click on Save EPF nomination
Step 8: Click E-sign to generate OTP and submit the same.

Note that if a member has a family at the time of making a nomination for EPF/EDLI Schemes, the nomination must be in favour of one or more members of his family, and any nomination made by such member in favour of someone who is not a member of his family is void.

Members can submit their nominations via e-nomination any number of times. However, only the most recent nomination will be considered valid.
