What is UAN?
UAN stands for Universal Account Number and is allotted by the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). This number will help the EPF member to view details of all the Member Identification Numbers (Member Id) linked to it. Here is how to retrieve Universal Account Number easily.

Go to https://www.epfindia.gov.in, the official website of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation. On the page, various services related to Provident Fund, pension, and employee welfare are offered.
Step 2: Select ‘Services’  and click  ‘ For employees’

On the ‘Services’ tab on the homepage and click on ‘For Employees’ from the dropdown menu. Note that services specifically meant for salaried employees, including PF balance checks, UAN services, and more.

Under the Services section for employees, click on ‘Member UAN/Online Services’. This will redirect you to the unified member portal, where EPFO-related online services like UAN retrieval, KYC update, and passbook access are available.

Fill in your personal details
On the UAN retrieval page, enter your: Full Name (as per EPFO records), date of birth, personal ID details (like PAN, Aadhaar, or Member ID)
Step 4: Provide mobile number, captcha, OTP and submit

Enter your mobile number, type in the captcha code, and click ‘Request OTP’. You will receive a One Time Password (OTP) on your mobile. Enter the OTP to verify.
Once OTP is verified, click on ‘Show My UAN’. Your Universal Account Number will now be displayed on the screen.
