The Employees' Provident Fund Organization's (EPFO) next significant digital infrastructure upgrade, EPFO 3.0, is based on a cloud-based IT platform. The goal of launching EPFO 3.0 is to improve the speed, paperlessness, and accessibility of PF services for employers, pensioners, and salaried workers. Auto-claim settlement
Eligible EPF advance claims up to Rs 5 lakh can now be processed under auto-settlement, reducing manual intervention and improving claim turnaround time.

Digital corrections of EPF records
Record corrections are anticipated to become less office-dependent and more digital with EPFO 3.0. However, depending on the sort of rectification, employer or EPFO verification may still be necessary.

No employer approval for EPF withdrawals
EPFO 3.0 is projected to lessen employer reliance on eligible EPF claim and withdrawal flows by implementing Aadhaar-based and digital verification. However, employer clearance may still be necessary in some KYC, hiring, or record-correction circumstances.

PF withdrawal through UPI or ATM
EPFO 3.0 is expected to make PF withdrawals faster through UPI and UPI-enabled ATM access. The facility has reportedly completed testing, but EPFO has not yet confirmed the final launch date or the exact process for all members.

Checklist to ensure your EPFO account is ready for the new system
EPFO members should link their Aadhaar with their Universal Account Number (UAN) and verify it with their EPFO account
Link and verify your bank account on the EPFO member portal.
Ensure that your details, such as name, date of birth and other personal information, match across your Aadhaar, PAN and EPFO records.
Set up or confirm your UPI ID with your linked bank account.
Register on DigiLocker if you have not done so already.
Correct any discrepancies now to avoid delays when the new system goes live.
