Under the scheme, notified on March 28, members can avail non- refundable withdrawal to the extent of the basic wages and dearness allowances for three months or up to 75% of the amount standing to the member’s credit in the EPF account, whichever is less, to tide ove the financial crisis emerging out of COVID-19.
"It is heartening to report that the exempted PF trusts have also risen to the occasion amidst the COVID-19 pandemic," EPFO said in a statement on Monday.
As on the April 17, 2020, Rs 481.63 crores have been disbursed to 40,826 PF Members as advance under para 68-L for COVID-19 by the exempted PF Trusts, it said.
These include Neyvelli Lignite, Tata Consulting Services, Vishakhapatnam Steel Plant, HCL technologies, Power Grid Corporation, ONGC, BHEL and Hindustan Petroleum, among others.
