How to update date of exit in EPF account online

Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) members can update their date of exit from a company themselves using the online route. Employees can self-update their date of exit in their EPF account

Prerequisites for updating of date of exit
According to the EPFO FAQs, “The date of exit from a former job/employment must be updated in order to apply for an online transfer. Only two months after quitting a job can the date of departure be revised. In addition, the date of departure can be any day of the month in which the previous employer provided the last payment


This facility is based on a Aadhaar based one-time password (OTP). Thus, it can be utilised by those who have activated their UAN and linked their UAN with a verified Aadhaar number and have mobile linked with Aadhaar number for receiving the OTP sent for verification.


To change your Date Of Exit, simply follow these simple steps.
Step 1: Login Member sewa portal- https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/ using UAN and password
Step 2: Click on ‘Manage’ tab and click Mark exit, Choose PF account number from Select Employment dropdown.
Step 3: Enter Date of Exit and Reason for exit.
Step 4: Click request OTP and enter OTP sent to Aadhaar linked mobile number.
Step 5: Select the check box and click update and click OK.
You will get a notification that your date of exit is updated successfully.

How to check if 'exit date' is updated
You can check if your date of exit is updated by logging into the Member e-Sewa portal.
Step 1: Select 'Service History' from the 'View' menu.
Step 2: On your screen, a new tab will appear. The webpage will display a list of all of the employers with whom you have had EPF accounts, as well as information such as the date you joined the EPF, the date you left the EPF, the date you joined the EPS, and so on. According to the EPFO FAQs, once you update the date of exit, it cannot be changed.
