HDFC Bank Senior Citizen Care FD with higher interest rate extended to this date

HDFC Bank has extended its senior citizens-only fixed deposit scheme. This special Senior Citizen Care FD offers higher interest rate benefits for senior citizens and it was launched in May 2020.

The last date to invest in the Senior Citizen Care FD plan has been extended to July 7, 2023.




Senior care FD details
Under the scheme Senior citizen investors are offered an additional 0.25 percent interest rate. The premium is in addition to the current 0.50 premium paid to senior investors on FD accounts. Investors in the Senior Citizen Care FD programme therefore receive 0.75% more interest than regular clients overall.

According to the HDFC Bank website, “An Additional Premium of 0.25% (over and above the existing premium of 0.50%) shall be given to Senior Citizens who wish to book the Fixed Deposit less than 5 crores for a tenure of 5 (five) years One Day to 10 Years, during special deposit offer commencing from 18th May'20 to July 7, 2023.’

In case of premature closure of fixed deposit booked in the above offer (including sweep in / partial closure) on or before 5 years, the interest rate will be 1.00% and post 5 years, the interest rate will be 1.25% below the contracted rate or the base rate applicable for the period the deposit has remained with the bank, whichever is lower.

Senior citizen fixed deposit interest rate on Senior Citizen Care FD on tenure between 5 Years 1 day to 10 Years is 7.75%.

HDFC Bank offers an interest rate between 3.5% to 7.75% on tenures ranging from 7 days to 10 years.

SBI and ICICI Bank have also extended their senior citizen special FD deposit dates. This offer is not applicable to Non-Resident Indian.
