EPFO credits 23.34 crore EPF accounts with interest of 8.5% for FY2020-21: How to check PF balance

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has said that it has credited 23.34 crore EPF accounts with an interest rate of 8.5%. The EPFO announced this via tweet on its official Twitter account. “23.34 crore accounts have been credited with an interest of 8.50% for the FY 2020-21. ,” the EPFO tweet stated.

The finance ministry, in November, had approved an interest rate of 8.5% on provident fund deposit for 2020-21.



Employees who contribute to an EPF account can check their account balance using these methods: Umang App, EPFO Member e-Sewa online, SMS, or a missed call. How to check EPF balance using Umang app
The Umang app allows employees to check their PF balance on their mobile phones. The software allows users to see their EPF Passbook, submit claims, and track their claims. To get started, enter your phone number and complete a one-time registration.

How to check EPF balance using the EPFO portal
You must have an active Universal Account Number to view your EPF account balance on the EPFO portal (UAN). You must go to https://passbook.epfindia.gov.in/MemberPassBook/Login.jsp and enter your UAN and password to check your balance. You can check and download your EPF account statement on the website.

How to check EPF balance using SMS facility
To check the balance of your EPF account, send an SMS to 7738299899. EPFOHO UAN is the format in which the message must be sent. To get this message in a language other than English, include the first three characters of the desired language in the message.

How to check EPF balance using the missed call facility
By initiating a missed call to 011-22901406 an EPFO member can check the balance of their EPF account. However, in order to use this service, a member must meet specific requirements. Having a current Universal Account Number is one of these requirements (UAN). This service is provided without charge.
