Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III delivered a dominant performance on Sunday, earning Super Bowl LX Most Valuable Player honors after leading his team to a 29-13 win over the New England Patriots at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Walker carried the ball 27 times for 135 yards, averaging five yards per rush, with a longest run of 30 yards. His strong, steady running controlled the game and helped Seattle secure its second Super Bowl title, while also avenging its loss to the Patriots from 11 years ago.

In addition to his rushing success, Walker added value in the passing game, catching two passes for 26 yards. His performance placed him in rare company. He became the first running back to win Super Bowl MVP since Terrell Davis in 1998, and his 135 rushing yards were the most by any player in a Super Bowl since Davis. According to the Detroit Free Press, Walker is also one of only three players in Super Bowl history with multiple runs of 25 yards or more, joining Marcus Allen and Timmy Smith.

Walker’s football journey began at Wake Forest before he transferred to Michigan State in 2021. In his lone season with the Spartans, he rushed for 1,636 yards and 18 touchdowns. He became a national star after a legendary 197-yard, five-touchdown performance against Michigan in a stunning upset.

Selected 41st overall in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Walker is the latest Michigan State standout to win a Super Bowl ring. Through four NFL seasons, he has totaled 3,555 rushing yards and 55 touchdowns, cementing his place among the league’s top running backs.
