Golden Globes 2026: Full winners list - Teyana Taylor claims first award of the night for best supporting actress

The 83rd Golden Globe Awards kicked off in style on Sunday night in Beverly Hills, with Teyana Taylor claiming the first win of the evening. Taylor won Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her performance in One Battle After Another, setting the tone for an exciting night. Hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser for the second consecutive year at the Beverly Hilton, the ceremony celebrated the best in film and television.

Teyana Taylor became emotional as she accepted her first-ever Golden Globe award for her supporting role in One Battle After Another. Fighting back tears on stage, she thanked her family along with the film’s cast and crew for their support.

Taylor also delivered a heartfelt message to “little brown girls watching tonight,” encouraging them to believe in their dreams and know that they, too, belong on the biggest stages.


“Our softness is not a liability. Our depth is not too much. Our light does not need permission to shine,” Taylor said. “We belong in every room we walk into. Our voices matter and our dreams deserve space.”
