Bettijo Hirschi’s reported monthly expenses nearly matched two years of estranged husband Todd Bridges’ earnings before divorce filing

Todd Bridges has taken steps to make his split from Bettijo Hirschi official, filing for divorce three months after the couple confirmed their separation. Court filings and earlier legal documents, however, have also shown a weighty income gap between these two, one large enough to draw buzz. According to those filings, Bettijo Hirschi’s monthly expenses were about 23 times her estranged husband Todd Bridges’ monthly income in 2024.

The former Diff'rent Strokes actor, 60, filed paperwork asking to end his marriage Tuesday (March 31) in Arizona, Us Weekly reported Thursday, April 2. This will be the second divorce for both parties. He claimed that their “marriage is broken beyond repair” after trying to “resolve [their] problems.”


According to documents obtained by PEOPLE, the Diff’rent Strokes alum, 60, officially filed a Petition for Dissolution of Marriage Without Minor Children in a Maricopa County, Ariz., court on Tuesday, March 31. He cited that the marriage was "irretrievably broken" as the reason for divorce.

No official statement came from either of them about the exact reason for divorce, but a large income disparity was visible during their spousal support dispute in 2025. During a contentious spousal support dispute in 2025, Hirschi described the Everybody Hates Chris veteran as "semi-retired," Us Weekly reported in February of this year.

The documents were part of a legal dispute that Hirschi engaged in with her first husband, Heath Hirschi, following her marriage to Bridges. At the time, the outlet reported that Bettijo’s monthly expenses were ‘more than $16,550’ and said Bridges made a mere ‘$700’ a month in 2024 unless he obtained "contract work." That roughly equals two years of Todd Bridges’ earnings in that time.

The two met in January 2022; they married nine months later, after a brief engagement. Hirschi told Tamron Hall last year that a friend who wrote a new dating profile for her showed it to Bridges as “market research.” The friend then told Hirschi that Bridges wanted to get in touch.
