Todd Bridges seeks divorce from Bettijo B. Hirschi three months after announcing separation, calls marriage ‘irretrievably broken’

Todd Bridges has filed for divorce from his wife Bettijo B. Hirschi in an Arizona court, marking the end of their three-year marriage. The former Diff'rent Strokes child star and Hirschi, who married in September 2022 after meeting on a dating app, had announced their separation in January 2026.

Bridges, 60, filed to end the marriage on Tuesday, March 31, according to Us Magazine, citing court documents. He claimed that their “marriage is broken beyond repair” after trying to “resolve [their] problems.” As per People, citing court documents, Bridges termed the marriage as “irretrievably broken” in his divorce filing.


Bridges and Hirschi, a photographer and designer, indicated that they do not have any community property or debts, and neither is requesting spousal support. All other terms have been settled in a mutual agreement reached outside of court, per the docs, notes People.

As per the outlet, both Bridges and Hirschi are representing themselves in the matter.

Bridges and Hirschi, who got married in 2022, confirmed their separation earlier this year.


"After much prayer and reflection, my spouse and I have made the difficult decision to separate," Bridges said in a statement shared with PEOPLE in January this year. "This was not an easy choice, and it comes with a heavy heart, but also with love and gratitude for the life we shared."

Bettijo B. Hirschi and Todd Bridges met in January 2022 when a friend of Hirschi’s made her a profile on a dating app and showed it to Bridges for "market research,” she revealed during a December 2024 appearance on The Tamron Hall Show. Later, she went on a date.

Bridges proposed six months later, and the pair tied the knot that same year in September 2022.

Todd was previously married to his first wife Dori from 1998 to 2012, with whom he shares son Spencir, 28, and daughter Bo, 29. Hirschi also has four children from a previous marriage.

While together, Bridges and Hirschi blended their families and collaborated professionally, launching the DANG! podcast in 2024, which featured candid conversations about "everything from love and family to mental health struggles like anxiety and addiction," per its official website.
