The film will also star 'Masaan' actor Vicky Kaushal, who will reportedly play the role of Dutt's close friend.

The 56-year-old actor was released from Pune's Yerawada jail last month after he was granted remission in his five-year sentence.

Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani is working on the biopic, which will have Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role.

Dutt, who is serving his five year hail term, was out on parole recently and met Hirani to discuss the script of the yet-to-be-titled film.
