With the killing of Rao the central security establishment is expecting many second-rung Maoist leaders in the new politbureau.

Koteshwar Rao, alias Kishanji, is believed to have been killed in a joint operation by the CRPF and West Bengal police in West Midnapore.

The dossier names eight politbureau members, including general secretary Ganapathy, alias Mupalla Laxman Rao.
