Sri Lankan Navy today nabbed at least 65 suspected illegal immigrants to Australia, who had left for the voyages from a Kerala port.

A total of 80 would be asylum seekers to Australia, all of them Tamils, were arrested in Sri Lanka's northern region by the Navy today.

Lankan navy has arrested 30 Indian fishermen for allegedly poaching in country's waters, taking the total number of those captured to 56.

Their six trawlers were also seized. They were handed over to the police in the islet of Kayts for further action, the Navy added.
