Wipro executive chairman Rishad Premji’s compensation more than doubled to $1.6 million (about Rs 13.7 crore) in the financial year ended March 31, 2025, but remained significantly lower than that of CEO Srinivas Pallia, who took home $6.2 million (about Rs 53.64 crore), according to the company’s latest annual report.

Premji had taken a voluntary pay cut of around 20% in the previous fiscal year, drawing a salary of $769,456 (about Rs 6.4 crore) for 2023-24. He did not receive any commission during that period, as the company’s incremental consolidated net profit for the year was negative.

In 2024-25, after Wipro reported an 18.9% increase in net profit to Rs 13,135.4 crore, Premji’s remuneration rose to $1.6 million (about Rs 13.7 crore), as per the company’s 20-F filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

Pallia, who took over as CEO and managing director on April 7, 2024, earned a total of $6.2 million (about Rs 53.64 crore) in FY25. His compensation included approximately $1.7 million in salary and allowances, another $1.7 million in commission or variable pay, about $2.8 million categorised under ‘others’, and $68,850 as long-term compensation.

His remuneration is less than half of what Wipro’s former CEO Thierry Delaporte received in FY24, when he earned $20 million (about Rs 168 crore).

The filing stated that both Premji and Pallia are entitled to a commission equivalent to 0.35% of the company’s incremental consolidated net profit over the previous financial year.
