Pocket FM hits $450 million ARR in April after accelerating AI-led content creation

Audio series platform Pocket FM has reached $450 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) in April 2026, driven by its AI-native storytelling system, cofounder Rohan Nayak said in a LinkedIn post.

“While building Pocket, we reimagined the entertainment playbook by pivoting to an AI-native storytelling system. At the core of this AI-native engine is our fiction writing co-pilot, trained on billions of minutes of engagement data,” Nayak said in the post.

The company crossed $200 million ARR after six years of operations in the fourth quarter of FY25 and reached about $400 million ARR in the fourth quarter of FY26. It currently has more than 300,000 creators producing over 80,000 hours of content every month.


“We are very bullish on the use of AI; it has helped us expand into multiple countries, localise content quickly and build our user generated content (UGC) business with extreme efficiency,” said a Pocket FM spokesperson.

The platform operates in more than 20 countries.

Pocket FM offers tools such as an AI co-pilot for writers and translation tools that adapt stories to local cultures. “This allows us to test and scale blockbusters globally almost immediately,” the spokesperson said.

Its revenue stood at Rs 1,768 crore for FY25, up 68% year-on-year, ET reported in April 2025. More than half of its revenue comes from user payments through microtransactions, with the rest from advertising.

Pocket FM competes with Spotify and other new-age content platforms such as Krafton-backed Kuku FM and Pratilipi. Kuku FM raised $85 million led by Granite Asia in October 2025, valuing it at $550 million, while Pratilipi raised $20 million led by Jungle Ventures in April last year.
