Ather Energy CHRO Sunitha Lal resigns after eight years

Lal, who joined Ather in August 2017, thanked cofounders Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain "for the immense trust, confidence, and the invaluable space". In a post on LinkedIn, Lal said Ather has now become a force in the EV industry.

Ather Energy's chief human resources officer Sunitha Lal resigned after over eight years with the electric vehicle maker to pursue other interests, the company said in an exchange filing.

"In this journey, much like the product that we were building, the organisation was also built from scratch. We didn’t have any playbooks or any benchmarks we could rely on. The deep thought that went behind how to design our organisation, the philosophy of our people practices, our approach to policy crafting, and most importantly, the way we continue to weave our culture with the collective at the core of it - every bit of it has been incredibly fulfilling," the post read.

An alumnus of Madurai Kamaraj University, Lal's previous stints include AIG Systems Solutions and Mphasis, where she was in senior HR roles. She took over as CHRO at Matrimony.com in 2012.

Meanwhile, Ather Energy recently announced its fourth quarter results. The electric two-wheeler (E2W) maker’s net loss narrowed 17% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 234.4 crore in the fourth quarter of FY25, driven by rising volumes and improved margins.
