Scaler Academy has made five key leadership hires, the edtech startup said on Tuesday. The company, which offers software programming courses, had in January raised $20 million in a Series A funding from Sequoia India, Tiger Global and Global Founders Capital.

It has appointed Rahul Karthikeyan as chief marketing officer. Karthikeyan was earlier head of marketing at Upgrad. Arnav Gupta has joined as product and strategy lead. Gupta is a serial entrepreneur and has also worked at Zomato previously.

Anu Nair has joined as creative head, while Manmeet Singh Akali and Ranjeet Kumar have joined as co-heads of brand and content. Abhimanyu Saxena, cofounder of Scaler and InterviewBit, said the company would hire around 100-150 people in this fiscal year to support expansion.

Scaler Academy earlier functioned in an income-sharing model where learners would pay the fee of the course after they landed a job. It has now shifted to a pay-per-course model as, Saxena said, this brought down cost for learners.
