Bengaluru: Trell, a short-video app focused on lifestyle content, has started a social commerce platform to make the most of the growing interest in this subset of e-commerce.

Trell users will now be able to purchase personal care products and cosmetics, among others, on the short-video platform based on reviews and recommendations from influencers. It has partnered with 500+ established and upcoming brands across makeup, personal care, health and wellness categories for the same.

"With social commerce, we are enabling millions of key opinion leaders, across the country, to become micro-entrepreneurs and make a sustainable source of income by sharing their learnings and experiences with the community,” said Pulkit Agrawal, co-founder of Trell.

The company said India has seen a boom in video content consumption during the Covid-19 pandemic. It has also accelerated the growth of e-commerce platforms' penetration deeper into India.
