Former Zilingo CFO Ramesh Bafna joins CoinSwitch Kuber as finance head

Crypto investing platform CoinSwitch Kuber has appointed the former chief financial officer (CFO) at Singapore's troubled business-to-business (B2B) ecommerce startup Zilingo, Ramesh Bafna, as its CFO.

Bafna, who was also involved in the review of the alleged financial irregularities at Zilingo, as reported by ET on April 19, worked at the Sequoia Capital-backed startup only for three months after joining in March. Before Zilingo, he was the CFO and SVP at fashion ecommerce firm Myntra and had earlier stints at Flipkart and Wipro.

At CoinSwitch Kuber, he will take over the role from Sarmad Nazki, who is moving on to pursue other opportunities, according to the company.

Founded in 2017 by Ashish Singhal, Govind Soni, and Vimal Sagar Tiwari and backed by investors like Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Tiger Global, Sequoia Capital, and Coinbase Ventures, among others, CoinSwitch Kuber is evolving into a wealth-tech startup.

The Crypto unicorn has been strengthening its management team with leadership appointments, including Ashish Chandra (general counsel), Jayram Krishnan (vice president-product) and others.
