Employees at the Bengaluru-based company have leveraged more remote working options in FY24 than in FY23, shows its ESG (environmental, social, and governance) report that ET has seen. This comes at a time when other tech companies are bringing in stricter mandates for employees to work from office.
In FY24, about 84% of Infosys employees leveraged remote working options, compared with 75% in FY23. The figure was 97% in fiscal 2022, when the world was gripped by the Covid pandemic.
Questions mailed to Infosys didn’t elicit any response till the time of going to press Wednesday.

The IT major has also set itself a target of delivering 33% of its work by leveraging flexible/remote work options by 2030, the report said.
To reduce the travel stress on employees, Infosys has also set up smaller offices within tier-1 cities. “The Infosys North Gate office in Bengaluru is one such example. Along with reducing travel stress for employees, these have also created opportunities for local talent,” added the report.
Post-pandemic workplace transformation is currently being implemented at scale, Infosys said. The reimagined workplace supports people to work in the hybrid mode and encourages them to work collaboratively, the report said. “Transformed workplace aligning to the new normal increases productivity, health and wellness and provides a refreshing experience to the employees, while ensuring efficient usage of resources.”
In its FY24 annual report, Infosys had said that the hybrid work model “is about our people and their comfort. It offers the flexibility of working from home and working from office in a hybrid work model”.
The IT major recently announced a transfer policy offering an incentive package to employees open to take a transfer to its Hubballi development centre, as the company seeks to strengthen its operations in the tier-II city in the Mumbai-Karnataka region.
