Xiaomi Mi3 to go on sale today with 15,000 units

NEW DELHI: Xiaomi will start the third round of a flash sale of its Mi3 smartphones today at 2 PM on e-commerce site Flipkart, which is the exclusive retailer of the Chinese handset maker's devices in the country.

The handset maker had said in a recent Facebook post that it will offer 15,000 units of the Mi3 smartphone on August 5. The company, in another post, said that the sale will be open to customers who have registered before 11.49 PM on August 4.

Xiaomi has sold 20,000 Mi3 smartphones on Flipkart till date in the country. It had sold out the entire Mi3 stock in its second flash sale online on June 29 in just five seconds.

Interestingly, Flipkart had crashed temporarily on July 22, minutes after Xiaomi's Mi3 went on sale for the first time in the country.

Xiaomi had then said that about 100,000 customers had registered to buy the smartphone, priced at Rs 13,999. The price of Rs 13,999 pits Mi3 against mid-segment devices such as the Moto G and BlackBerry's new Z3 device.
