Online bounty: 15 million Lenovo phones sold on Flipkart
This helped Lenovo become the largest online seller of smartphones, accounting for a quarter of such sales.

“We are the No 2 smartphone brand by value and volume in India and have been a dominating player in online space for the last seven quarters,” Sudhin Mathur, executive director for Lenovo Mobile Business Group India, said at the launch of a new model. The company said its products have been a runaway hit among Flipkart customers.
“We hope to build on this successful association,” said Ajay Yadav, vice president-mobiles at Flipkart.
Lenovo is aiming for the top spot in the smartphone market where it trails Samsung, which had a 23% share of the market at the end of September, up 8% sequentially. Lenovo had a 9.6% share of smartphones in the third quarter, IDC said. Mathur said the company intends to improve on this, and also make a mark in the premium segment within smartphones with Moto Z and mods, or modular attachments.
