Huawei Honor 6 Plus smartphone up for pre-booking on Flipkart

Honor, the online-only brand of Chinese handset maker, Wednesday said that its flagship device Honor 6 Plus is available for pre-order at Rs 26,499 exclusively on Flipkart.com.

NEW DELHI: Honor, the online-only brand of Chinese handset maker, Wednesday said that its flagship device Honor 6 Plus is available for pre-order at Rs 26,499 exclusively on Flipkart.com.

The Honor 6 Plus will go on sale through flipkart.com on April 14. The company said that customers who have successfully completed the registration process will be given priority of purchase because of the limited stock.

Honor will also provide a chance to 16 people to be selected through a lucky draw to meet RCB player in New Delhi on April 27, 2015. The company is RCB’s principal sponsor for IPL,

The company has also decided to give gifts for the lucky customers who successfully buy the product after April 14. “The lucky winners will get free return tickets toEurope and along with a ticket to witness the football match,” the statement said.

The device features a 5.5-inch full-HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with a 1080x1920 pixels resolution and is powered by Huawei's own Hi-Silicon 925 SoC coupled with 3GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot.

The dual-SIM smartphone runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box with the company's own Emotion UI 3.0 on top. It supports 4G LTE and is backed by a massive 3600 mAh battery.

The device boasts of a dual 8MP rear set-up with autofocus and dual-LED flash. There is also an 8MP secondary camera on-board.

Most budget users think that a low-cost smartphone is just a slightly less powerful version of the high-end smartphone available for double the price.

This hypes up expectations, leading to complaints about disappointing performance.

While a few smartphones like the Xiaomi Redmi Note and Yureka have managed to come close, most other budget smartphones do not even come close to what the high-end devices offer.

Remember they are called budget smartphone for a reason. Some of the things you will have to compromise on include screen resolution, processor type and speed, RAM, camera quality (even though on paper they will match by saying a 13MP camera), build quality and battery life.

Hardware specifications are what you need to check thoroughly while selecting your smartphone. Just because it’s a budget phone does not mean it has to be running on entry-level hardware.

Check out the processor (octa cores are easily available now), RAM (the more the better) and the storage available (expandable storage is always recommended).

Other specifications such as display size and resolution, connectivity options, battery capacity etc. are the next things to evaluate.
