BENGALURU: Personal shopping app startup Voonik has launched a desktop site, bucking the wider trend of consumer Internet companies in India going mobile-only. “While the other ecommerce companies are switching to an app-only strategy, w at Voonik think we are moving closer to our user base by providing them access to a personalised store across multiple platforms,“ said Sujayath Ali, CEO & founder of Voonik. When it launched, Voonik was an app-only company. Companies like Flipkart had triggered a debate when reports surfaced that they might go app-only and shut their desktop versions. Flipkart had even shut its mobile website in favour of a native mobile application, only to re-launch an improved mobile website earlier this month. Voonik processes 10,000 orders a day and is looking to get to 15,000 a day.
